"My Family has been in the seedstock business, having sold around 200 Simmental bulls per year. Many are Sim x Angus. Since we have purchased Angus from time to time, we have gotten on your mailing list, and I just want to compliment you on the exceptional work that you do gathering info and data and placing it in a catalog. I am very impressed. You really find the good in the stock. If I were ever to use a sale management, you folks would be the first I would contact.

Personally, I am a critic, always culling off the bottom, but it is your job as a marketer to identify the good and bring it to light. You do this so honestly well. As a chain is no stronger than its weakest link, seedstock are not much better than their weakest trait.

As for EPDs, my first priority is Maternal Calving Ease. If the cow struggles to calve, she will not last but attrition out of the herd. Conover always prints CEM; some Angus people leave it out. If it is below average or missing, I won’t buy. It’s a privilege to have you be a part of our industry in my region. Have a Merry Christmas. May your eyes get rest from all of that research so they can be strong for the next season."
